Remove Duplicate Lines
Merged exports, e-mail lists and log extracts fill up with repeats. Paste the list, choose how strict the comparison should be, and keep only the first occurrence of each line.
How to use it
- Paste your list, one item per line.
- Tick the options you need: ignore case, sort, drop blanks.
- Press apply and read how many duplicates were removed.
Examples
- Two merged mailing lists of 500 rows each often reduce to well under 800 unique addresses.
- With capitalisation ignored, Ana@site.com and ana@site.com count as the same entry.
- Sorting afterwards makes it easy to spot near-duplicates that differ by a typo.
Questions people ask
Does it keep the original order?
Yes, unless you tick sorting. Each line's first appearance stays where it was, so a chronological log keeps its sequence while the repeats disappear.
Are spaces at the ends of lines a problem?
No. Every line is trimmed before comparison, so a stray trailing space will not make an otherwise identical line look unique.
