Countdown Timer
A timer you can start in two taps and see from across the room. Set the time, press start, and a tone plays when it reaches zero. Pausing keeps the remaining time so you can pick up exactly where you left off.
How to use it
- Enter hours, minutes and seconds.
- Press start; pause and resume whenever you need.
- Reset to return to the time you entered.
Examples
- Ten minutes for tea, a run of exercise or a focused writing sprint.
- Twenty-five minutes for a work interval.
- Two minutes for a language drill or a plank.
Questions people ask
Does it keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The remaining time is worked out from the clock rather than from counting ticks, so a background tab that gets throttled still finishes at the right moment.
Will the sound play on a phone?
On most devices, provided the phone is not silenced and you started the timer with a tap — browsers require a user gesture before allowing audio. Keeping the tab open in the foreground is the safest option.
