How to use it

- Adding a single value of 500 to that list pushes the mean past 77 while the median moves to 18.5.

Questions people ask
When is the median better than the mean?
Whenever a few extreme values distort the picture — salaries, house prices, response times. The mean follows the outliers, the median stays with the middle of the data. Reporting both is the honest option, which is why they appear together here.
What if no value repeats?
Then there is no mode and the tool says so. A mode only exists when at least one value appears more than once; if several values tie for the highest count, all of them are listed.
